Will #NVGov Republicans Join Laxalt in Working to Overturn the 2022 Election Before it Happens?

With Adam Laxalt already preparing litigation for the 2022 election, the Lander County Commission attempting to audit their electronic voting machines, and the Nevada Republican Party chairman supporting a frivolous election audit – pressure is growing on the GOP candidates for Governor to answer basic questions about bogus claims of voter fraud. They’ve all made election integrity a pillar of their campaigns, so will they join Laxalt and cry voter fraud in an election that’s 14 months away? And we’re still waiting for them to answer whether they support the Lander County Commission’s efforts to overhaul our election system.

As Republican Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske confirms there was no evidence of widespread fraud in the 2020 election, the GOP find themselves divided between Cegavske, the GOP’s only statewide elected official left, and Laxalt–someone they are all fighting to share a spot on the ballot with in 2022.

“The Republican candidates for Governor are running on a platform based on false claims of voter fraud but have yet to weigh in on Adam Laxalt’s plan to overturn an election that hasn’t happened yet,” said Nevada Democratic Victory spokesperson Mallory Payne. “Are they going to team up with Laxalt, who they hope to run alongside next November, in undermining Nevadans’ voice at the ballot box?”
