After establishing himself as Trump’s top lackey in Nevada, Adam Laxalt began step two: taking Trump’s playbook to the extreme and plotting to overturn the 2022 election over a year before any ballots were cast. 

Shortly after launching his campaign, the AP reported that Laxalt was planning early litigation to “tighten up” the 2022 election and overturn the results, later arguing that he only failed to overturn the 2020 for Trump because they went on the offensive too late. 

This earned him widespread ridicule and condemnation from the Washington Post, Rachel Maddow, and Chris Hayes, among others. Just months later, Laxalt doubled down on his plot, with the New York Times revealing that Laxalt was “laying detailed groundwork” for lawsuits to ensure the election went his way.
