Step 4: Laxalt’s Spread of the Big Lie Drew Ire and Condemnation from Law Enforcement

Sleazy, corrupt politician Adam Laxalt has based his entire campaign for Senate around the Big Lie. His relentless peddling of the conspiracy theory added fuel to the deadly insurrection at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, drawing ire and condemnation from members of law enforcement.

As Trump’s top lackey in Nevada, Adam Laxalt was called out by Nevada law enforcement leaders for fundraising off the Big Lie conspiracy that led to the insurrection and the tragic deaths of law enforcement officers. Laxalt refused to apologize or stop using the Big Lie to fundraise, and instead called the events of Jan. 6 exaggerated, and argued most insurrectionists should not be prosecuted.

Statement from Nevada Democratic Victory Spokesperson Olivia Davis:

“Adam Laxalt’s obsessive peddling of the Big Lie helped inspire the insurrection that took the lives of law enforcement officers. He is so focused on gaining power that he’s willing to break the rules and stand against our law enforcement, as long as he stays in Trump’s good graces.”
