SHOT/CHASER: Lombardo Tries to Have it Both Ways on ARP Funding

SHOT: Joe Lombardo’s campaign released a new ad decrying “socialist” spending, referring to American Rescue Plan dollars authorized by Congress to help states recover from the pandemic.

CHASER: In April 2021, Lombardo stood next to Democrats Congresswoman Susie Lee and Commissioner Michael Naft praising the American Rescue Plan and the positive impact it would have on local police departments.

Lombardo [07:27]: “So I thank the congresswoman and her efforts in the passing of the relief act, and everybody else in the local government, especially the county commission who is directly responsible for my physical funding and their ability to recognize the shortfalls and figure out a mechanism for us to be made whole. With that, thank you very much, and I appreciate everybody’s efforts in this endeavor.”

“It’s just like Joe Lombardo to try and have it both ways on something as critical as federal relief funds aimed at helping Americans recover from the pandemic,” said Nevada Democratic Victory spokesperson Mallory Payne. “Lombardo is more concerned with doing or saying whatever it takes to survive a brutal competitive primary than telling Nevadans the truth.”

Governor Sisolak utilized federal relief funds in part by investing in affordable housing, getting students caught up, lowering the cost of health care, addressing mental health, and supporting small businesses.
