One Year Since the Trial Began for Laxalt’s Pay-To-Play Conspirators

Last October, Laxalt found himself at the center of a federal corruption trial for Trump associate, Lev Parnas

It’s been one year since the trial began for the conspirators in Adam Laxalt’s Russian pay-to-play scandal. As opening statements began on October 13, 2021, Laxalt found himself at the center of the federal corruption case where court documents revealed that Lev Parnas and Russian oligarch Andrey Muraviev had been led to believe that Laxalt would help them get a marijuana license in Nevada after Laxalt accepted an illegal straw contribution from the oligarch.

The marijuana pay-to-play scandal was the third in a string of corruption scandals that surfaced during Laxalt’s tenure as AG, which included his efforts to kill a probe into Big Oil billionaires who spent heavily on his behalf.

Statement from Nevada Democratic Victory Spokesperson Olivia Davis:

“One year ago Laxalt was in federal court because of his engagement with a Russian oligarch and his henchmen. Pay-to-play Laxalt has a history of corruption, showing over and over again that he’s only looking out for himself.”
