Nevada Democratic Victory Executive Director Brynn Palmen issued the following statement ahead of the start of ballot counting in Nevada:

“Nevada has some of the most accessible voting laws in the nation and Democrats in Nevada have been voting overwhelmingly by mail in this election. We now know from county officials that the many ballots that were dropped off today in the state’s two most populous counties will not be counted tonight. Officials in Clark and Washoe Counties have indicated that it may take several days to process these ballots. Therefore, we do not expect the results of the competitive races to be clear tonight.

“As nonpartisan experts have been saying for weeks, Nevada has a diligent process for counting all ballots. As we have said from the beginning, we are confident and we are prepared to wait for final results.”
