Nevada Democratic Candidates Celebrate Labor with SEIU Communities United Candidate Forum

Candidates up and down the ballot joined SEIU International leaders to speak directly with Nevada union members

Today, Gov. Steve Sisolak, Rep. Dina Titus, Rep. Susie Lee, Rep. Steven Horsford, Asm. Edgar Flores, Sen. Marilyn Dondero Loop, Sen. Melanie Scheible, Sen. Fabian Doñate, Fmr. Asm. Skip Daly, Asm. Selena Torres, Asm. Shondra Summers-Armstrong, Duy Nguyen, Asm. Rochelle Nguyen, Will Rucker, Asm. David Orentlicher, Clark Co. Comm’r. William McCurdy II, Clark Co. Comm’r. Tick Segerblom, Clark Co. Comm’r. Justin Jones, and SEIU International President Mary Kay Henry came together in Las Vegas for SEIU’s Communities United Candidate Forum.

Candidates, who gave speeches and participated in panels led by SEIU Local 1107 members, spoke directly to union members on the issues that affect them most. Candidates also spoke about the importance of voting for Democrats in the 2022 election to defend the right to organize, pass the PRO Act, and protect choice and the freedom to vote.

Gov. Steve Sisolak speaks at the SEIU Communities United Candidate Forum. Last week alongside SEIU, Governor Sisolak pledged to raise the Medicaid reimbursement rate for home care services to $25 per hour and implement a $15 per hour minimum wage for home care workers in his next budget.
