Nearly Two Weeks After Corruption Scandal, Lombardo is Still Silent

It’s been nearly two weeks since the shocking report of Joe Lombardo’s corrupt and dishonest practices as the head of LVMPD and he still hasn’t offered the public a single answer. After lying for over two years and now facing calls to resign, Lombardo has left Nevadans without an explanation or an apology.

While Lombardo told the public he ended the 287(g) program years ago, bombshell reporting showed he effectively continued the program off the books and behind closed doors–keeping Clark County residents and elected officials in the dark for years. Since launching his campaign for governor, his lack of transparency has been in full force as he continues to muddy his positions, claiming to both have and not have a zero-tolerance policy for undocumented immigrants and changing tone on his immigration stance for different audiences.

“Joe Lombardo has shown very clearly who he is–corrupt, dishonest, and completely uninterested in being transparent with those he hopes to serve in the highest office in the state,” said Nevada Democratic Victory spokesperson Mallory Payne. “Nevadans deserve answers from Lombardo. As long as he stays silent, he continues to prove he doesn’t have the integrity or leadership to be governor.”
