Following the news that the Supreme Court allowed the Texas abortion ban to take effect, Nevada Democratic Victory released the following statement on the stakes of Nevada’s U.S. Senate race for reproductive rights.

“This attack on women’s health care is a powerful reminder to Nevada women of the stakes in next year’s election and why we must defeat anti-abortion extremist Adam Laxalt. Laxalt has dedicated his career to the anti-choice movement, using his position as Attorney General to undermine reproductive rights and even opening the door to overturning the law protecting abortion access in Nevada. Adam Laxalt won’t stand up for the rights of Nevada women.”

Background: 

Adam Laxalt has spent his entire career working to restrict women’s reproductive rights. As Attorney General he chose to sign onto multiple legal efforts that would threaten abortion access, even pledging to ‘look into’ rolling back the law that protects Nevadans’ right to choose.
