Lombardo’s Failed Record: Here’s What’s New

As Joe Lombardo’s record as sheriff continues to take center stage, there’s no mistaking he’s running on failed leadership. Since Lombardo has taken over as Clark County’s top cop, the wait time for emergency calls has jumped a full minute…despite receiving fewer calls and bringing on more officers during that time. Meanwhile, robberies have shot up 30% this year…

This all comes as Metro is understaffed while Lombardo sits on $124 million in the More Cops Fund–which comes from a tax increase he fought for solely to hire additional officers. And even when Lombardo pushed for an 8% budget increase this year, the proposed budget didn’t include any funding for additional officers. With Metro expecting to remain understaffed until at least the end of 2023, it looks like Lombardo is in no rush to put more cops on the street as crime skyrockets and small business owners ask for more help.

“We didn’t think it was possible for Lombardo’s failed record to get worse, but with property crime up and emergency response times slower, it’s further proof Joe Lombardo is incapable of doing his job and completely unqualified to lead the state,” said Nevada Democratic Victory spokesperson Mallory Payne.
