Laxalt Called Out for Embracing Anti-Semitic Michael Flynn

In Case You Missed It, Adam Laxalt is facing new criticism for embracing an anti-semite on the campaign trail. According to new reporting from the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the Jewish Democratic Council of America is condemning Laxalt for touting the endorsement of Mike Flynn, who has embraced Holocaust denialism

Laxalt is no stranger to conspiracy theories. He is a supporter of the Great Replacement conspiracy, a “racist and anti-semitic conspiracy” that centers around the idea that minorities, including Latinos, are to blame for problems in America. Laxalt has led efforts to spread the Big Lie and has endorsed far-right extremists and QAnon supporters including Carolina Serrano and Jim Marchant.

Key Points:

  • Democratic Jewish groups criticized Laxalt for campaigning with Michael Flynn, who has previously said some insensitive comments about Holocaust victims.
  • Flynn compared himself and Republicans to Holocaust victims, saying that “we’re being marched” to Nazi death camps and that unlike Holocaust victims, he “would never get on that train.”
  • Steven Sheffey, chief of staff for the Jewish Democratic Council of America, which has endorsed Cortez Masto said Flynn is a “nasty guy” who has made “many outrageous and offensive comments.”
  • “We really believe that (Laxalt) shouldn’t have Flynn campaign with him. It sends a bad message to all those who oppose bigotry,” Sheffey said.
  • Laxalt’s campaign declined to respond to those concerns.
