New reporting from The Washington Post reveals that Republican senators have had several meetings with anti-choice groups to discuss “a national strategy that would kick in if the Supreme Court rolls back abortion rights this summer, including a push for a strict nationwide ban on the procedure if Republicans retake power in Washington.”

Laxalt would be a guaranteed vote in favor of banning abortion nationwide and recently campaigned with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who just signed a severe abortion law with no exceptions for rape or incest. As attorney general, Laxalt signed onto multiple legal efforts to roll back abortion access, and pledged to “look into” reversing the 1990 Nevada ballot initiative protecting women’s reproductive rights.

“Senate Republicans have made it clear: if they elect Adam Laxalt to the Senate, they will do everything in their power to ban abortion nationwide. Nevadans rejected Laxalt’s anti-choice agenda in 2018, and they will again this fall. ”
