Every time Joe Lombardo makes a public appearance, we’re reminded why they’re so rare. And we imagine his handlers will order him back into hiding after last night’s debate circus because he demonstrated exactly how unprepared he is for prime time.
- Lombardo has no plans…
- The day after 19 children lost their lives to gun violence, Lombardo made no mention of how he’d keep guns away from bad actors.
- Just weeks before the Supreme Court is expected to strike down Roe v. Wade, Lombardo still can’t provide Nevadans with a clear stance on choice, saying he’d consider any pro-life legislation but offered no specifics.
- When asked how he would improve the Clark County education system, Lombardo rambled about the economy and criticized the state legislature but never offered anything even resembling a solution.
- And an abysmal record.
- The field has been attacking Lombardo’s record on immigration for months and last night, he finally had to face his “Sanctuary Joe” reputation…
- Patting himself on the back because homicides are down 2% this year, Lombardo left out the fact that that’s compared to 2021–the deadliest year in the last five when homicides shot up 49%.
- When asked about his hand-picked successor Kevin McMahill’s sexual harassment allegations, Lombardo–visibly angry and refusing to even look at the accuser’s face as her interview was replayed–doubled down on his support for abusers over victims, even after a new incident was revealed just last week.
- The only thing worse than his record or lack of vision? His temperament and arrogance.
Lombardo: “For all practical purposes, this primary is over. There’s nothing more to argue about. I’ve weathered 12 months of Steve Sisolak and his PACs and from most of the individuals standing here next to me…I’m leading in all the polls, I have the most money associated with a successful campaign, I have the endorsement of President Donald Trump and I have the endorsement of 16 of 17 Sheriffs.”
For his final act…extreme arrogance:
“We learned absolutely nothing new about Joe Lombardo in tonight’s debate but were reminded why his handlers keep him in hiding,” said Nevada Democratic Victory spokesperson Mallory Payne. “He’s spent a year on the campaign trail and still can’t keep his temper in check, defend his disastrous record or offer a single plan to move Nevada forward.”
