Red flag laws have the power to save lives, so why is Joe Lombardo refusing to use them?

Despite Governor Sisolak signing a red flag law to keep guns from bad actors, it’s been used less than similar laws passed in other states. Why the hold up? According to The Nevada Independent: “a lack of buy-in from sheriff’s offices.” 

While crime has been skyrocketing in Clark County over the last year and a half, Joe Lombardo refuses to utilize the law and protect Nevada families–even promising to reverse it if elected. It’s no surprise that Joe Lombardo is failing to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous individuals. His solution to gun violence is…more guns. He supports arming teachers and untraceable ghost guns. 

“Despite making it his campaign slogan, Joe Lombardo is yet again failing to keep Nevadans safe by refusing to support laws passed to keep guns out of the hands of those who pose an extreme risk to themselves and others,” said Nevada Democratic Victory spokesperson Mallory Payne. “Lombardo is not just the wrong choice for Nevada–he’s a dangerous one.”
