ICYMI: Yet Another Report Details Lombardo’s Corruption

“Having these public officials using their power to go completely outside of the normal government process…is incredibly problematic.”

With a history of dishonesty and deception as the head of LVMPD, Joe Lombardo is under fire again after new audio recordings reveal he circumvented Nevada law in an attempt to keep Metro’s corruption in the dark.

In the wake of an FBI investigation into the department’s vice unit for allegedly having sexual relationships with prostitutes, Lombardo attempted to dismiss a judge who publicly voiced concerns about corruption within vice–but in a blatant abuse of power to keep his cover up attempts out of the public eye, he violated Nevada statute by going outside of the required protocal of filing an affidavit. Desperate to keep their corruption under wraps, Metro had already spent $30,000 on private attorneys to keep police records and testimony out of court.

Once again, Lombardo has refused to comment, denying Nevadans an explanation for his deceit.

“Between Metro’s secret communication with ICE and now his blatant attempt to cover up the vice unit’s corruption allegations, Lombardo is clearly incapable of running Metro with integrity and transparency–yet he’s based his entire campaign for governor around his experience as sheriff,” said Nevada Democratic Victory spokesperson Mallory Payne. “Lombardo has a pattern of hiding Metro’s policies and misconduct from the public and refusing to take accountability for his actions, showing Nevadans exactly what leadership means to him.”
