Drought is an Important Issue for Nevadans, But Not for Adam Laxalt

While drought continues to be top of mind for Nevadans across the state, corrupt politician Adam Laxalt continues to oppose solutions to protect Nevada’s water supply. Laxalt has come out in opposition to $4 billion in federal funding secured by Senator Cortez Masto in the Inflation Reduction law to combat drought. He has even opposed a water recycling project that Cortez Masto delivered through the Bipartisan Infrastructure law, which will provide water for 500,000 homes in the region.

Laxalt has a history of being a climate change skeptic, and has consistently stood against legislation to address drought in Nevada, instead repeating Big Oil talking points and working to protect his Big Oil donors

Statement from Nevada Democratic Victory Spokesperson Olivia Davis:

“Laxalt would rather bury his head in the sand and protect his Big Oil buddies than address critical environmental issues in Nevada like drought. His opposition to federal resources to address Nevada’s drought crisis shows that he’s only out for himself.”
