Crowded Republican #NVGov Primary Gets a New Candidate

Another day, another Republican jumps into the growing primary field for governor. This morning, Republican venture capitalist Guy Nohra floated to Politico he’s mulling a run and has already committed to self-funding his campaign. And yesterday, a new report detailed former Senator Dean Heller is working the rural circuit as he re-introduces himself to the Republican base after losing his campaign for re-election in 2018.

These latest entries will be joined by the Failure to Launch candidate Joe Lombardo, newly minted Republican John Lee who’s already on air, and insurrectionist Joey Gilbert.

“Nevada Republicans are giving themselves a year to duke it out for the Republican nomination, ensuring this primary will be long, expensive and nasty,” said Nevada Democratic Victory spokesperson Molly Forgey. “The jabs have already begun, forcing candidates to prove their conservative bonafides and appeal to Trump’s far-right base. But while the candidates focus their attention on each other, they’ve yet to prove to Nevada voters why they deserve to lead our state.”
