Band of Bothers

Joe Lombardo continued to prove that transparency is not in his nature, staying quiet on Metro’s corrupt immigration policy and his stance on abortion. Joey Gilbert took swipes at “RINO” Lombardo, who left the fighting to his PAC. As Governor Sisolak wrapped up his Health Care Week touring the state talking about expanding access to vulnerable communities, Republicans made it clear they haven’t thought about health care at all.

Everything you need to know about what the Band of Bothers have been up to this week:

Silence of the Lombardo
Today marks two weeks of silence from Joe Lombardo following the bombshell report that he’s been running a corrupt, off-the-books operation in Metro for years–keeping his constituents in the dark until he decided to use his corruption as a talking point in a competitive Republican primary.

Nevadans have yet to receive an explanation from Lombardo, who is now facing calls to resign. And it looks like he actually listened!

His lies and deception aren’t the only things Lombardo is staying quiet about. With the Mississippi 15-week abortion ban at the Supreme Court this week that could threaten the future of Roe v. Wade, Nevadans need to know where the candidates for governor stand. Despite Nevadans’ overwhelming support for reproductive freedom, the GOP field is committed to turning back the clock. Lombardo, however, hasn’t offered specifics on his anti-choice stance and is once again lacking transparency with voters on a critical issue.

Bothers on the Battlefield
The battlefield got bloody this week with Joey Gilbert going after Lombardo on election integrity, calling him every name in the book–from RINO to Sanctuary Joe. Lombardo’s Better Nevada PAC hit back on his behalf, continuing to mock Gilbert and Fiore who are likely contenders for the Trump endorsement that could be coming soon.

This Week’s Unpopular Obsession + Popular Omission
With the field doing very few public events or interviews this week, the unpopular obsession has been hiding…likely hunkered down begging for money as they prepare for their expensive civil war. As Governor Sisolak closes out Health Care Week, the popular omission couldn’t be more clear. The field has yet to offer plans to stop the spread of covid or to expand access to affordable health care.
