Adam Laxalt Welcomes Tom Cotton to Nevada After He Voted to Kill Nevada Jobs and Infrastructure

 Laxalt Silent On Historic Jobs Bill Championed by Nevada’s Senators

As failed, corrupt politician Adam Laxalt prepares to host far-right fringe conservatives like Senator Tom Cotton and Governor Ron DeSantis this weekend at his annual Basque Fry, his headliner and GOP ally Tom Cotton just voted against the economic future of Nevada.

Cotton tried to block the Senate’s bipartisan infrastructure bill from passing, and if he had succeeded it would have prevented new, good-paying jobs all across Nevada. Here is exactly what Laxalt’s Basque Fry headliner voted against for Nevadans when he voted no on the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act:

  • $2.5 billion for federal-aid highway apportioned programs;
  • $225 million for bridge replacement and repairs;
  • $462 million to improve public transportation options across the state;
  • $38 million to support the expansion of an EV charging network;
  • At least $100 million to help provide broadband coverage across the state, including providing access to the at least 123,000 Nevadans residents who currently lack it;
  • $450 million in water infrastructure funding that could  provide water for 500,000 households;
  • $3.4 billion to prevent and control wildfires.

Statement from Senior Communications Advisor Andy Orellana:

“Today’s passage of the bipartisan infrastructure bill will deliver historic investments for Nevada’s economic future, but Adam Laxalts is embracing the far-right fringes of his party that tried to kill it. Laxalt is continuing to ally with an extremist who voted against this historic jobs bill, telling Nevadans everything they need to know about his priorities.”
