Laxalt goes all-in on fringe candidate who has called to dissolve the FBI and repeal the Civil Rights Act

Corrupt, failed politician Adam Laxalt has endorsed January 6 truther Carolina Serrano for Congress in Nevada’s First District. Serrano is a right-wing extremist who has argued that FBI agents were behind the January 6 insurrection, that the agency should be dissolved as a result, and the 1964 Civil Rights Act should be repealed. 

Laxalt led efforts to overturn the 2020 election in Nevada, headlining the state’s “Stop the Steal” campaign that fueled the deadly insurrection on January 6, 2021. Not only has Laxalt refused to condemn the violence that he spurred on with his election lies, he is now throwing his full support behind a candidate who peddles a demonstrably false conspiracy theory that “undercover agents” were responsible for the attack.

Laxalt himself has had multiple run-ins with the FBI, having been caught in both a pay-to-play scheme and a corruption scandal that required cooperation with federal authorities during his time as Nevada’s Attorney General.

“Adam Laxalt continues to dig his heels in and promote anyone who embraces the Big Lie, but he still refuses to condemn the violent insurrection he helped inspire with those lies. This endorsement serves as further proof that Laxalt’s only focused on himself and Donald Trump, not Nevadans.”
