Laxalt and Cruz Continue Their Push to Turn Back The Clock on Women’s Reproductive Rights

Just one day after the near-total Texas abortion ban took effect and threatened Roe v. Wade and women’s reproductive rights, Adam Laxalt announced his endorsement from Ted Cruz, the most extreme, anti-abortion member of the Senate. Cruz’s endorsement of Laxalt came at the exact same time that Cruz announced his support for the extreme Texas abortion ban, likely because Laxalt, like Ted Cruz, has spent his entire career working to restrict women’s reproductive rights. 

Cruz made it clear in his endorsement that he sees Laxalt as a partner who will “stand up and fight” for his right-wing agenda, which includes federal efforts to undermine women’s health care access. As Attorney General, Laxalt chose to sign onto multiple legal efforts that would threaten abortion access, even pledging to “look into” rolling back the law that protects Nevadans’ right to choose.

Cruz’s endorsement comes within the week of Nevada’s Latino leaders bashing Laxalt for embracing Trump and Laxalt’s job-killing, anti-immigrant and anti-worker agenda that will hurt Nevada’s working families.

Nevadans can always count on Adam Laxalt to attack their health care and reproductive rights.”
