Ad Wars: Attack of the Clowns

In a galaxy far, far away…Republican candidates for #NVGov take over TV screens in their expensive race to the right

With eight months still to go, the GOP primary for governor is escalating quickly as multiple candidates and an outside group drop seven figures in total to increase name ID and attack opponents on the airwaves. John Lee, Guy Nohra, Michele Fiore and Pro-Lombardo Better Nevada PAC are all on the air statewide. With Dean Heller and Joey Gilbert spending thousands on Facebook ads and bound to join their opponents on TV soon, the ad wars have already begun and signal just how messy and expensive the next seven months will be.

“We’ve known all along that this primary will be brutal for the GOP but with multiple candidates putting up TV ads this early, the civil war is officially in full force for the next seven months,” said Nevada Democratic Victory spokesperson Mallory Payne. “By the time they’ve flooded TV screens and drained their bank accounts in June, the lone survivor will be bruised and destitute as they prepare to face a well-funded Governor in the general election.”
